Cotton (棉)

Acrylic (腈纶)

Stock Dyeing / In-Stock (色纺)
Yarn is pre-dyed in standard colors and kept in stock. This is the fastest and cheapest option — no dyeing wait time, no MOQ per color. Every sock needs 2-5% elastane. Without elastane, socks lose their shape after one wear, slide down the leg, and develop baggy knees. Quality check: Reject yarn below 15 cN/tex (cotton) or 30 cN/tex (polyester) — it will develop holes quickly.
Elongation at Break (断裂伸长率)
How much the yarn stretches before breaking. Measured as a percentage. Higher elongation = more flexible, less brittle yarn. Standard range: 5-10% for cotton, 20-40% for polyester, 30-50% for nylon, 400-700% for elastane. Quality check: Cotton yarn with under 5% elongation is brittle and will break during knitting, causing defects.
Evenness / CV% (条干均匀度)
How consistent the yarn thickness is along its length. Measured as CV% (coefficient of variation) — lower = more consistent. Standard range: CV 12-16% for carded cotton, CV 10-13% for combed cotton, CV 8-11% for compact spinning. Quality check: High CV% (over 16%) causes visible thin/thick spots in the knitted fabric, slubs, and uneven appearance. Combed cotton (CV 10-13%) is visibly smoother than carded cotton (CV 12-16%).
Hairiness / Fuzz (毛羽)
The amount of fiber ends protruding from the yarn surface. Measured as hairiness index (H). Lower hairiness = smoother yarn, less pilling. Standard range: H 5-8 for carded cotton, H 3-5 for combed cotton, H 2-4 for compact spinning, H 2-3 for polyester. Twist Multiplier (捻系数)
How tightly the yarn is twisted. Measured as twist multiplier (TM or α). Higher twist = stronger, more durable yarn, but less soft. Lower twist = softer yarn, but less durable.
